The Song That Made Me Want To Learn The Bass

When I was a kid, my mother was a fanatical Beatles fan. Was? Hell, she still very much is. I remeber being four years old and walking in on my mother crying her eyes out. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that this guy that was in a band that she really liked had just died. I asked her who. She said his name was John Lennon. The name meant absolutely nothing to me other than the fact that his passing upset my mother. She put me to bed with tears still in her eyes. Then her and my stepfather went into the living room, smoked a joint, and listened Abbey Road (vinyl, not cassette) over and over again. This song in particular must of been played 10 times that night.

Worst part was that John Lennon wasn’t even her favorite Beatle. Mr. McCartney, you had better hang around a while. I’m not looking forward that day.
